Phycobiliproteins are water soluble fluorescent proteins derived from cyanobacteria and marine algae. Several different types have been characterized, and two of these (R-phycoerythrin and allophycocyanin) have become workhorse fluorescent detection reagents in a wide range of biotechnology applications.Agilent phycobiliproteins are manufactured from proprietary natural sources grown in continuous culture in California.
