SuperCos I Vector

Cosmid vectors are very valuable in structural and functional analysis of complex genomes as they accommodate genomic DNA fragments in the size range of 30 to 42 kb. The SuperCos I Vector system is a novel 7.9 kb cosmid vector containing bacteriophage promoter sequences flanking a unique cloning site.This structure allows rapid synthesis of ‘walking’ probes specific to the extreme ends of insert DNA. The SuperCos 1 vector also contains genes for the amplification and expression of cosmid clones in eukaryotic cells.
